This training will help everyone to better understand the realities and how domestic abuse affects adults and children. It will update current knowledge and awareness.
In celebration of our charity’s 50th anniversary, Haven Training have put together a package of training and events which can be purchased by individuals for their organisations, their own awareness and development, or for use with community or voluntary organisations they support.
This training aims to give a comprehensive understanding of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) within the context of domestic and child abuse. It explores the prevalence and the four types of FGM (Clitoridectomy, excision, infibulation, other), the immediate and longer-term effects, emotional and the psychological consequences.

This training is 100% beginner friendly, and you are guaranteed to leave having learnt about the topic of VAWG, from government definitions to real-life case studies. This training will increase your understanding of the dynamics of Domestic Abuse and how it may be different for older people. It is aimed at any professional whose work brings them into contact with adults from the voluntary, statutory, and private sectors e.g., Professionals who have direct (face to face) or indirect (over the phone) contact.
