Overview: The training is aimed at any individual that wants to support children and young people who have been subjected to abuse and trauma. Learn the importance of play in a child and young person’s development and recognise how important assessments are when working with families and identify how to support the social and emotional development of children and young people therapeutically.

At the end of the training participants will be able to:

  • Identify what is Child Development.
  • Recognise the importance of play in a child and young person’s development.
  • Recognise how important assessments are when working with families.
  • Identify how to support the social and emotional development of children and young people.

This training is suitable for professionals who support children and young people who have been subjected to abuse and trauma,  including managers, supervisors, full-time staff, part-time staff, and volunteers. Examples of people who may wish to take this training include Teachers, nursery workers, teaching assistants, carers, and childminders, Doctors, nurses, paramedics, health workers, Social workers, council staff, Youth workers, activity leaders, volunteers, Sports coaches, Church leaders, religious leaders, and volunteers.
