The Haven Wolverhampton was established by two volunteers in 1973 and since then we have continued to support the needs of our ever expanding volunteer base. Volunteers provide practical and emotional support to women and children suffering domestic violence, homeless and abuse.

The Haven Wolverhampton has offered a supportive volunteer programme for many years We currently have over 100 volunteers who offer their support on a full or part time basis that help to keep our services running.

Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the work and delivering life changing services to women and children. The opportunities we offer allow volunteers to use their specialist skills, learn new skills and enhance their skill base for future employability, meet new people and have fun! Volunteers' dedication also helps us as an organisation to support and improve the services offered to our client group.

All Haven volunteers receive Domestic Violence Awareness Induction Training. When as a volunteer you have completed 6 months volunteering, as a committed volunteer you are given the opportunity to achieve a recognised level 3 OCNWMR qualification in ‘Working with Survivors of Domestic Violence’.

Any offers of volunteering will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), two satisfactory references and completion of the Domestic Violence Awareness Induction Training.
